Review and Swatches: Maybelline New York Fit Me Foundation

I'm back with another foundaiton review. This time, I'm reviewing Maybelline New York Fit Me Foundation. The shade I have is Ivory 115.

Review:

• Packaging: This comes in a screw top bottle with a wide opening. It's not great for controlling how much product comes out but it would be great for getting the last scraps of product out when you've reached the end of the bottle.
• Colour: I am reviewing Ivory 115 which is their second lightest shade. It's too yellow for me, unfortunately, but my local store didn't have the lightest shade (110). Maybelline has 18 shades to choose from, so that's a good colour selection. Having a look at their swatches, it seems they have mid-toned skin covered pretty well but could still use some darker dark shades.
• Texture: This foundation is water-based and it's very runny. You have to blend it in carefully to avoid streakiness. On the face, it's light and you don't notice it.
• Finish: It claims to look like skin, and for the most part, it does look natural but you can definitely tell there's makeup there. It leaves a nice glow, which is great for those of you with dry skin, but for oily me, not so much.
• Coverage: The coverage of this is exactly what it says it is- that of a light foundation. For those of you with close-to-perfect coverage, this is good for you. For those of you who need more coverage, this is not the product for you.
• Longevity: This is my bug bear- the longevity is very poor. I used this as the foundation on a client whose school formal makeup I did and I was not impressed. I prepped the skin, applied primer (Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer) and then this foundation. I set it with translucent powder, too. By the end of the night (5 hours, say?) it was gone without a trace. I could not believe that it disappeared after all that prep! To add insult to injury, this was during our Australian winter- minimum humidity, relatively cool temperatures. Going by how it performed then, it's not going to last an hour on the skin now that it's summer (usually about 60-70% humidity and temperatures between 25-35 degrees Celsius)!
• Cost: The RRP in Australia is AUD$18.95 for 30mL of product but Priceline sells it for AUD$15.16. In the US, it costs USD$7.99 (insert yet another rant about pricing in Australia). 

Final Verdict: C+/B-
Good range of shades but very, very poor longevity on the skin.
